Yes, different types of modeling, teaching and mentoring work best with different type people. But almost no one learns best by incessant criticism of their every perceived miscue, (as perceived by you, at least). Often, the employee that comes up with the "breakthrough" idea for an organization is the very one that at first seemed so out of step with the norm. It is your job to see this potential in others. Just because an employee had to learn from the electric fence, don't give up on them. At least you can be sure that they are not likely to forget the experience! Remember: |
