This was my last quote in last month's newsletter. I got more feedback from that newsletter - (about finally directing your own course in life) - than any other I have written.

O.K., YOU MADE IT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO FAKE IT ANY MORE. YOU CAN FINALLY BE YOURSELF, FOLLOW YOUR DREAM. NOW WHAT? No matter what your age, family status, or position in your work life may be, it is never too early to dream AND PLAN for the life you have worked, or are still working, for.

Many of us are surprised and even FEEL GUILTY that we suddenly find ourselves yearning for a career very different than the one we trained for, even if the training took many years of hard work in graduate, medical, law, business, or any other kind of school, plus many physical, mental and emotional moves in our work. Now we have BEEN THERE, DONE THAT and we are ready for a new and different challenge.

But your spouse thinks you are crazy and is afraid you will lose the home and both end up in the poor-house. Your kids (regardless of age) are talking about having you committed. Your company thinks you are ungrateful and your ideas are nutty. Just remember:

In other words, "NOT KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE GOING, BUT KNOWING THAT YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY" may not be the worst thing in the world, at least for a while.

Covenant Reliance Producers, LLC's Founder and CEO Matthew Rettick has long felt there is much he and his employees could learn, and, in turn be motivated by what they read in books. So he instituted a monthly reading program at CRP that works like this: Rettick selects a book each month (often from employee suggestions). Each employee is offered a copy of the selected book to read and keep. At the end of the month, the employee writes a report about the book and how reading it affects their work lives at CRP, or how it affects them personally. As an incentive, Rettick pays each employee $100 for reading the book and writing the report. As an extra incentive, Rettick reads the reports and chooses the best one. The person who wrote that one is given an extra $100 dollar bill at the monthly staff meeting.

I found out about this great program by one of Rettick's enthusiastic employees, Corbi Wallingford. My book, "The Wisdom of Wolves: Nature's way To Organizational Success," had been chosen by Rettick and Corbi liked it so much she passed it on to her mother, who passed it on to her fellow executives within her company, The Brain Garden. Several of them then purchased my book.
